Whip out your business card, just like business people!
‘I never thought I could use a business card because I don’t have a business’ is a comment that we often hear from clients. Even though you don’t own a business, you have something very precious to offer – a professional skill set – your 3 Ks – explained in the next column. Highly practical and useful, your business card can help build your network and impress potential employers. Carry a bunch of cards with you all the time so that you are ready to hand them out to anyone inclined to help you find work in your field. Attach it to your CV (with a paper clip, not stapled) and use it in every meeting, interview and social gathering.
