Seeking out the hidden market

What is the hidden market? The hidden jobs market is made up of all the positions that are currently unfilled, are not advertised, are about to become vacant or have yet to be created (in the case of development). It is said that 80 % of the jobs market is, in this sense, hidden.
You can uncover the hidden market by using your network and making telephone calls to employers. Be careful, though! Getting results requires knowing where to look.
For instance, consider that a network of personal contacts grows over the course of conversations and meetings. You know your network, but not necessarily the network of your contacts. Use your contacts and follow up on these conversations. That is how you will obtain relevant information from your network.
When making a telephone call to an employer, try to arrange for an information meeting with the person who is responsible for hiring in your field of activities. Ask for 15 minutes of his or her time to answer a few of your questions (which, of course, you prepared ahead of time). You will therefore have the opportunity of making yourself known and to make use of another network of contacts, should no position be available for you.
We know that it is not easy to contact employers, but you will soon become skilled at it and reach your goal of finding a job.

Good luck to you!
