The hidden online market

The hidden online market

What is the hidden market? The hidden jobs market is made up of all the positions that are currently unfilled, are not advertised, or are about to become vacant and those that have yet to be created (in the case of development). It is said that 80 % of the jobs market is, in this sense, hidden.
Because these positions are not being advertised, you will not see them posted online. However, you may be able to find leads on certain companies. Online, you will find:
• information on companies (development projects, annual reports, press releases or new service launches, etc.);
• employees who work in the company of interest, via social networking websites such as LinkedIn;
• names and addresses of persons in human resources to whom you could send your résumé, found by clicking on tabs such as
“Contact us” or “Our team”;
• company directories in your industry that will help you find persons to contact by telephone (icriq.com, mdeie.gouv.qc.ca, construction411.com, imt.emploiquebec.net, etc.).

Be well organized, target a few companies and pick up the telephone. Human contact is always the winning approach when looking for work!

Good luck!
